New Minolta cameras ? NOPE ! Scam ? You decide.

One of the most bizarre situations that emerged in the last years was cameras being sold under the Minolta brand.

Be warned, these cameras have nothing to do with what was once known as Minolta or Konica-Minolta. The rights to use the MINOLTA name were sold to a group called ELITE BRANDS, which released a series cheap cameras under the famous brand.

The key is to look at the Minolta Logo. The original one has a stylized O, the new has not.

The cameras are so bad that at first I thought they were crude counterfeits or some sort of scam, but they have the legal right to use the Minolta name.

A very sad end to a mighty brand with a glorious past.
